Scope
YB/T 6504-2026 is the English-translated version of 焦化油类产品 全硫含量的测定.
YB/T 6504-2026 specifies a method for determining total sulfur content in coker oil products by high-temperature combustion with infrared spectroscopy. It applies to coking oil products with a water content below 0.5%, such as coal tar, creosote oil, carbon black oil, wash oil and anthracene oil, and to light oil products such as coking benzene, crude benzene, pure pyridine and industrial toluene. The measuring range is a total sulfur mass fraction of 0.01% to 1.5%.
Coking plants, coal chemical producers, buyers of these oils and independent testing laboratories can use it to determine sulfur in products and in trade. It is a voluntary standard, as the /T in its code shows. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 July 2026 and takes effect on 1 February 2027. It is a new standard.
