YB/T 6499-2026 specifies the instruments, test content, determination and calculation methods, and test report for measuring the cold flow field uniformity of blast furnace hot blast stoves. The cold flow field is the gas flow distribution inside the stove checked without firing. The document applies to determining and calculating the cold flow field uniformity of top-combustion, external-combustion and internal-combustion hot blast stoves in the iron and steel industry; other types of hot blast stove may also follow it.

Ironmaking plants, stove designers and builders, research institutes and testing organizations can use it to assess and compare stove designs. It is a voluntary standard, as the /T in its code shows. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 July 2026 and takes effect on 1 February 2027. It is a new standard.
