Scope
YB/T 190.16-2026 is the English-translated version of 连铸保护渣 二氧化钛含量的测定 硫酸铁铵滴定法.
YB/T 190.16-2026 specifies an ammonium ferric sulfate titrimetric method for determining the titanium dioxide content of continuous casting mold fluxes, the powders used on the molten steel surface in the mold during continuous casting. It applies to the determination of titanium dioxide in these fluxes over a measuring range of 5.0% to 25.0% (m/m).
The method is used by the quality control and analytical laboratories of mold flux producers and steel plants, and by independent testing laboratories that verify flux composition on behalf of buyers. It is a voluntary industry standard, as the /T in its code shows. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 July 2026 and takes effect on 1 February 2027. It is a new standard.
