XF 494-2023 was issued by Ministry of Emergency Management on 19 July 2023 and has been in force since 19 January 2024.

It replaces the earlier edition XF 494-2004.

2 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of anti-fall equipment for fire protection, and stipulates its model, design, appearance and structural requirements, performance requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage. This standard applies to fire-fighting anti-fall equipment used by fire-fighting rescue personnel in regular operating environments such as fire-fighting rescue or daily training.
