Scope

TB 10028-2016 is the English-translated version of 铁路动车组设备设计规范.

TB 10028-2016 — 1.0.1 This Code is prepared with a view to unifying the technical standards of EMU facility design of railway as well as ensuring that the EMU facility design of railway complies with the requirements for safety and reliability, advanced and proven technologies, economical efficiency, and applicability.

1.0.2 This Code is applicable to the design of the distributed-power EMU facilities driven by electric traction for new and upgraded standard-gauge railways and is not applicable to the design of the diesel multiple unit facilities.

1.0.3 The setting of EMU facilities shall comply with the following provisions.

1 The EMU facilities shall be arranged rationally in line with the railway network planning, following the principle of centralized maintenance and decentralized stabling, and in accordance with the requirements for quick inspection and repair, safety and reliability, and high operation efficiency of EMUs.

2 The EMU facilities shall be designed according to the service scope and railway transport organization scheme, as well as the EMU models configured and the number of allocated EMUs.

3 The EMU facilities shall meet the demands for inspection and repair at all levels as well servicing operation of the EMUs allocated for the EMU deport (or workshop), so as to improve the turn-round and operation efficiency of the EMUs.

The combination of periodical repair, condition-based repair and part replacement repair should be used for the inspection and repair of EMUs. 1.0.4 The EMU depot, workshop, and stabling yard shall be divided according to the following scopes of service.

1 EMU depot. For allocating the EMUs, as well as undertaking the inspection and repair at all levels, casual repair, servicing and stabling of EMUs. 2 EMU workshop.

For undertaking the servicing, Level 1 and Level 2 inspection and casual repair and stabling of EMUs.
