What this standard covers

This standard specifies the buckling criterion of the large-diameter cylindrical shell steel structure of the column-stabilized platform, and is used to check the buckling resistance of the cylindrical shell structure subjected to longitudinal force, bending moment, shearing force and uniform external pressure alone or in combination. This standard is applicable to a cylindrical shell structure having a uniform thickness or a rib without a rib between the circumferential ribs, and the ratio of the diameter of the cylindrical shell to the wall thickness (D/t) is greater than or equal to 300 and less than 1200, and the wall thickness is greater than or equal to 5 mm (3/16 in).
