SY/T 10034-2020 — This standard specifies recommended practices for the design, inspection, and maintenance of fire protection systems and minimize the possibility of accidental fire.

It emphasizes the need for fire-fighting training for personnel, regular drills, and the development of safe escape methods and procedures. The fire protection system discussed in this standard is intended to respond early to the initial fire to prevent its spread.

However, this discussion does not intend to preclude the use of a wider range of practices to adapt to special circumstances, or even replace it with other equivalent or higher-level protection systems.

This standard applies to fixed and open offshore production platforms installed under non-extreme climatic conditions. Such platforms have sufficient natural ventilation to minimize gas phase accumulation.

For enclosed areas, such as living areas and enclosed equipment areas usually installed on such platforms are also discussed.
