1 Scope

This part of SN/T 2297 specifies the high temperature combustion infrared absorption method for the determination of elemental sulfur content in gypsum and gypsum products for construction.

This part applies to the construction of gypsum and gypsum products, the determination of sulfur content, the method to detect the low limit of 2mg/kg.

3 Method summary

The elemental sulfur in the sample was extracted with acetone and a certain amount of high purity copper was added to the flask containing acetone. The copper was extracted with the extracted sulfur should produce copper sulfide. The sulfur content in the high-purity copper sheet after the reaction was measured by high-temperature combustion infrared absorption method, and then calculated according to the calculation formula the sulfur content of the element in the sample.

4 Instruments and equipment
