1 Scope

This part of SN/T 1732 specifies the HPLC method for the determination of picric acid in fireworks and pyrotechnics.

This section applies to the determination of picric acid and picrate in fireworks and pyrotechnics.

3 Method summary

The picric acid in the pyrotechnic drug sample is extracted with hot water and determined by high performance liquid chromatography under acidic conditions, and is characterized according to retention time.

Quantification by external standard method.

4 Reagents and materials

All reagents were of analytical grade unless otherwise stated.

4.1 Picric acid standard.

4.2 Hydrochloric acid.

4.3 Glacial acetic acid.

4.4 Methanol. Chromatographically pure.

4.5 Picric acid standard stock solution. accurately weigh the appropriate amount of picric acid standard (accurate to 0.0001g), and make 100µg/mL with methanol.

The stock solution was stored at 4 ° C at low temperature. Dilute to the appropriate concentration of standard working solution with methanol as needed.

5 Instruments and equipment

5.1 High Performance Liquid Chromatograph with Diode Array Detector or equivalent.

5.2 Analytical balance.

5.3 Centrifuge. The speed is not less than 3000r/min.

5.4 Quick Mixer.

5.5 Graduated centrifuge tube. 10mL, 20mL.
