Scope
QC/T 529-2013 is the English-translated version of 汽车液压动力转向器技术条件与试验方法.
QC/T 529-2013 is the Chinese automotive industry standard for constant-flow hydraulic power steering gears, setting both their technical requirements and the bench tests that verify them.
Separate clauses deal with recirculating ball and rack and pinion designs, each with performance items such as total turns, no-load torque, free clearance, steering force characteristics, return ability and internal and external leakage, plus reliability tests for reverse fatigue, forced steering, reverse overload and overpressure; the rack and pinion part adds stiffness, reverse drive load, noise, vacuum and muddy water durability tests.
Full hydraulic steering gears are outside its scope. Inspection is split into exit-factory checks and type testing on three sampled units. It replaces QC/T 529-2000 and QC/T 530-2000. Issued on 25 April 2013, it has applied since 1 September 2013.
