QB/T 8248-2026 specifies the drum pulper, a machine used to break down waste paper into pulp. The document sets out requirements for materials, machining, assembly, installation, appearance quality, mechanical and electrical safety, no-load running and performance. It describes the corresponding test methods, gives the inspection rules, and covers marking, packaging, transport and storage. It also gives the composition, model designation, basic parameters and working conditions that make the technical provisions easier to apply. It applies to the design, production, inspection and sale of drum pulpers for disintegrating waste paper into pulp, and it may be used by reference for equipment with a similar purpose.

The standard is used by pulper manufacturers, paper mills and recycled paper producers that buy and operate the machines, test laboratories and inspection bodies, and purchasers. It is voluntary, as the /T in the code shows. It was approved and issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 15 July 2026 and takes effect on 1 February 2027. It is a new document and does not replace an earlier edition.
