QB/T 8218-2026 is the English-translated version of 葡萄酒、果酒感官品评导则.

QB/T 8218-2026 gives guidelines for the sensory evaluation of wine and fruit wine, that is, for judging these drinks by appearance, aroma and taste as assessed by trained tasters. It is a guidance document and does not set limits for a product. It deals with how tasting and evaluation are approached for wine and for wine made from fruit other than grapes.

The guidelines will be used by wine and fruit wine producers and their quality control staff, by sensory panels and tasting competitions, by testing laboratories, by importers, distributors and buyers who assess wines, and by trainers of tasters. The document is voluntary, as the /T in the code indicates, and applies where producers, contracts or other rules adopt it. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology approved and issued it on 13 February 2026, and it comes into effect on 1 September 2026. It is a new document and does not replace an earlier edition.
