QB/T 5084-2017 is the English-translated version of 箱包 扣件试验方法.
QB/T 5084-2017 is the Chinese light industry test method for the fasteners of finished cases and bags - the magnetic fasteners and hook-and-loop (sticky) fasteners that close flaps, pockets and covers.
A fastener is opened and closed every time the bag is used, so its failure is one of the most common complaints on handbags and backpacks.
The method mounts the two halves of the fastener on a tester that opens and closes them reciprocally at a set angle and speed for a predetermined number of cycles, then checks the fastener and its attachment to the bag.
The standard covers the principle, the tester (sample holders, opening and closing device, counter and control device), the test method, the expression of results and the test report. It was issued for the first time and took effect on 1 July 2017.

Foreword
This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard was proposed by China National Light Industry Council.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Leather of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 252).
This standard is issued for the first time.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the test principle, apparatus, test method, expression of result and test report for the fasteners of finished case and bag.
It is applicable to the test of magnetic and sticky fasteners of finished case and bag.
2 Principle
Simulate the use state of the case and bag using magnetic and sticky fasteners, and reciprocally open and close the fasteners for a predetermined number of times at a certain rate and a certain angle. Check the quality of fasteners and assembly.
3 Apparatus
3.1 Tester for fastener of case and bag
It shall include the components specified in 3.1.1 to 3.1.4 and is as shown in Figure 1.
3.1.1 Sample fixing device, which is composed of upper and lower sample holders. The upper sample holder (movable clamp) is used to fix the bag body (or cover) where the upper part of the fastener is located, and the lower sample holder is used to fix the bag body where the lower part of the fastener is located.
3.1.2 Opening and closing device, which is connected with the sample holder capable of controlling the movement speed, angle and stroke, so that the upper part of the fastener can be reciprocatingly opened and closed at a certain angle and the angular velocity of (600±10)°/min.
3.1.3 Counter, used for recording the opening and closing times; one complete opening and closing is recorded as one time.
3.1.4 Control device, which will be stopped automatically in case of any abnormality during the test and has memory function.
