Foreword
Clause 4.1.2, 4.4.3, 4.5, and 4.6 of this standard are mandatory, and the
rest are recommended.
This standard is an amendment to QB 2585-2003 "Hydromassage bathtub".
In order to better meet the needs of domestic and foreign markets and to align
product quality with international standards, in the revision process of this
standard, combined with the development status of China's sanitary hardware
industry, it mainly refers to the United States UL1795 "Whirlpool bathtub", the
European standard EN 60335-2-60-2003 "Household and similar purpose
appliance safety - Special requirements for vortex bathtub", EN 12764 "Vortex
bathtub" and other advanced foreign standards.
As compared with QB 2585-2003, the main changes of this standard are as
follows.
- MODIFY the product's water jet distance requirements;
- MODIFY the requirements for product retention water;
- MODIFY the provisions for product noise values;
- ADD the requirements that the product shall be equipped with a backflow
device that isolates the sewer odor.
This standard was proposed by China Light Industry Federation.
This standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Hardware Products
Standardization Technical Committee Construction Hardware Subcommittee.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the definition, requirements, test methods, inspection
rules and signs, instruction manuals, packaging, transportation and storage of
hydromassage bathtubs (hereinafter referred to as "hydromassage bathtubs").
This standard applies to hydromassage bathtub used by no more than three
persons assembled from bathtubs, water pumps, air pumps, nozzles, drains
and other accessories.
2 Normative references
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this standard
through reference in this standard. For the dated references, the subsequent
amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this standard;
however, parties who reach an agreement based on this standard are
encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are applicable.
For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document applies.

3 Definitions
The hydromassage bathtub is a bathtub with a jet of air-containing water that is
injected into the body to produce a massage effect.
5 Test methods
5.1 Appearance
Appearance is tested by the visual inspection method, visual inspection shall
be carried out under diffuse light, the illumination shall not be less than 300 lx,
and 500 mm from the object under test.
5.2 Bathtub block
5.2.1 The enameled bathtub is tested in accordance with QB/T 2664-2004.
5.2.2 Glass fiber reinforced plastic bathtubs are tested in accordance with JC/T
779-2000.
5.2.3 The bathtubs of other surface materials are tested in accordance with the
corresponding standards.
5.3 Determination of surface treatment of metal fittings
5.3.1 Electroplating and spraying surface are measured in accordance with 6.4
in QB 1334-2004.
5.3.2 The corrosion resistance of electroplating and coating shall be measured
in accordance with 6.7 of QB 1334-2004.
5.4 Use performance
5.4.1 Determination of water jet distance
PLACE the bathtub on a platform, LEVEL the bathtub, INJECT water 50 mm
above the center of the highest nozzle of the bathtub, START the pump, USE
the steel ruler to measure the water jet horizontal distance.
5.4.2 Determination of tightness
5.4.2.1 INJECT the room temperature water into the hydromassage bathtub to
the overflow level, START the pump to make the running time of the circulation
system not less than 10 mm. Visually CHECK each sealing surfaces of the
hydromassage bathtub and the joints of the pipes.
5.4.2.2 INJECT the room temperature water into the hydromassage bathtub to
the overflow level, BLOCK all nozzle outlets in the bathtub, START the water
pump, visually CHECK the pipe connections of bathtub.
5.4.2.3 INJECT water at into the hydromassage bathtub to the overflow
level, START the pump to make the running time of the circulation system not
5.7 Detection of backflow device for insolation of sewer odor
REMOVE the drain cover from the product, visually CHECK the water seal in
the drain.
6 Inspection rules
Product inspection is divided into exit-factory inspection and type inspection.
6.1 Exit-factory inspection
6.1.1 Each product shall be subject to exit-factory inspection, and can only be
delivered after passing the inspection.
6.1.2 Exit-factory inspection items are as shown in Table 4.
6.2 Type inspection
In one of the following situations, a type inspection shall be carried out.
a) The trial production finalization identification of new product or trans-plant
production of old product;
b) When the product being produced has significant changes in design,
process, production equipment, management, etc. that may affect product
performance;
c) In normal production, one inspection shall be performed regularly after a
certain period of time or accumulation of a certain quantity;
d) When production resumes after production suspension;
e) When there is a big difference between the exit-factory inspection result
and the last type inspection;
f) When the national quality supervision institute proposes the requirements
for type inspection
6.2.2 The type inspection shall be carried out in accordance with all the items
required by this standard.
6.2.3 Type inspections shall be performed for the qualified product after exit-
factory inspection, one set is taken from each batch for inspection. If the
inspection fails to meet this standard, the number of samples may be doubled.
If it still does not meet this standard, the batch of products shall be judged as
disqualified.
