1 Scope

This Standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage for water-soluble fertilizers containing calcium and magnesium.

This Standard is applicable to solid or liquid water-soluble fertilizers produced and sold within the People’s Republic of China that contain the secondary nutrients calcium and magnesium as their main components.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document.

3.1 Water-Soluble Fertilizers

Solid or liquid fertilizers that are dissolved or diluted in water for use in fertigation, foliar fertilization, soilless cultivation, seed soaking, root dipping, etc.

4 Requirements

4.1 The appearance shall be a uniform solid or liquid.

4.2 Technical indicators for solid water-soluble fertilizers containing calcium and magnesium

shall comply with the requirements of Table 1.

4.3 Technical indicators for liquid water-soluble fertilizers containing calcium and magnesium

shall comply with the requirements of Table 2.

4.4 If trace element components are added to water-soluble fertilizers containing calcium and magnesium, the trace element content shall be no less than 0.1% or 1 g/L, and no higher than

10% of the secondary nutrient content.

NOTE. The trace element content refers to the sum of the contents of copper, iron, manganese, zinc, boron, and molybdenum. Any single trace element with a content of no less than 0.05% or 0.5 g/L shall be included in the trace element content.

4.5 The content-limit indicators for mercury, arsenic, cadmium, lead, and chromium in water-

soluble fertilizers containing calcium and magnesium shall comply with the requirements of

NY 1110.

5 Test Methods

5.1 Appearance

Determination shall be performed using the visual inspection method.

5.2 Determination of Calcium Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1117.

5.3 Determination of Magnesium Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1117.

5.4 Determination of Copper Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1974.

5.5 Determination of Iron Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1974.

5.6 Determination of Manganese Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1974.

5.7 Determination of Zinc Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1974.

5.8 Determination of Boron Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1974.

5.9 Determination of Molybdenum Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1974.

5.10 Determination of Sulphur Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1117.

5.11 Determination of Chlorine Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1117.

5.12 Determination of Sodium Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1972.

5.13 Determination of pH

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1973.

5.14 Determination of Water Insoluble Matter Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1973.

5.15 Determination of Moisture Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 8576 or GB/T

8577.GB/T 8577 is the arbitration method.

5.16 Determination of Liquid Fertilizer Density

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 887.The results are used for the conversion of mass concentration.

5.17 Determination of Mercury Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1978.

5.18 Determination of Arsenic Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1978.

5.19 Determination of Cadmium Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1978.

5.20 Determination of Lead Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1978.

5.21 Determination of Chromium Content

Determination shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 1978.

6 Inspection Rules

6.1 Products shall be inspected by the manufacturer’s quality supervision department; the manufacturer shall ensure that all products sold comply with the requirements of this Standard.

Each batch of products shall be accompanied by a certificate of quality, the content of which shall comply with marking provisions.

6.2 Products shall be inspected by batch; a single mixing operation constitutes a batch, with a maximum batch size of 50 t.

6.3 Sampling of solid or bulk products shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of

GB/T 6679.Sampling of liquid products shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 6680.

6.4 Place the collected samples into a clean, dry container and mix thoroughly and rapidly. Take

600 g of solid sample or 600 mL of liquid sample, divide it into two clean, dry containers, seal them, and affix labels indicating the manufacturer’s name, product name, batch number or date of manufacture, sampling date, and sampler’s name. One container shall be used for product quality analysis, while the other shall be retained for at least two months for re-inspection purposes.

6.5 After the solid sample has undergone repeated subdivision, take approximately 100 g and rapidly grind it until it passes entirely through a 0.50 mm aperture sieve (if the sample is moist, a 1.00 mm sieve may be used); mix thoroughly and place in a clean, dry container for determination.

6.6 After the liquid sample has been shaken repeatedly, rapidly take approximately 100 mL and place it in a clean, dry container for determination.
