NB/T 20445.1-2017 opens a recommended Chinese energy industry series on level 2 probabilistic safety assessment for nuclear power plant applications, and this first part carries the general requirements.

It sets the overall requirements for a level 2 PSA, the provisions the remaining parts of the series are built on. It applies to level 2 PSA in the design, construction and operation phases of pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants, and plants with other reactor types may use it as a reference.

It quotes NB/T 20037.1. Classified F65 in the Chinese system and 27.120.20 internationally, it belongs with the nuclear power plant safety standards. Issued on 1 April 2017, it has applied since 1 October 2017.
