The reactor coolant system of a pressurized water reactor plant is the subject of NB/T 20187-2012, a recommended Chinese energy industry standard.

It sets the basic design requirements for that system so that it can carry out its intended function safely and reliably, and it applies to the design of the reactor coolant system in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants.

Operation, maintenance and testing of the system fall outside it, except where such matters bear directly on the design. It takes the place of the earlier nuclear industry standard EJ/T 325-1988.

The documents it draws on include GB 6249, EJ/T 331, EJ/T 335, EJ 336, EJ/T 345 and NB/T 20035-2011, together with the HAD 102 and HAD 103 guides. Issued on 19 October 2012, it has applied since 1 March 2013.
