Scope

NB/T 10339-2019 is the English-translated version of 水电工程坝址工程地质勘察规程.

NB/T 10339-2019 is the Chinese energy industry specification for engineering geological investigation of the dam sites of hydropower projects.

It defines what to investigate on basic geological conditions and the physical and mechanical properties of rock and soil, and the methods to use: mapping, geophysical prospecting, exploration, rock and soil testing, hydrogeological testing and monitoring.

It then deals with the engineering geological behaviour of rock and soil foundations, including altered and deeply unloaded rock and special soils, the geological evaluation of rock foundations, soil foundations and slopes, and construction geology at the dam site.

Annexes classify debris flows, rock mass integrity, dam foundation rock, weak interlayers and soils and cover loess collapsibility, expansive soils, seepage deformation and seismic liquefaction.

It replaces DL/T 5414-2009. Issued on 30 December 2019, it has applied since 1 July 2020.

Foreword

According to the "Notice of the National Energy Administration on Issuing the 2015 Energy Sector Industry Standard System (Revision) Plan" (National Energy Administration)

Neng Technology [2015] No. 283) requirements, the procedure preparation team has conducted extensive investigations and studies, carefully summed up practical experience, and Based on extensive solicitation of opinions, this regulation was revised.

The main technical content of this regulation is. dam site engineering geological survey content, dam site engineering geological survey method, dam foundation Engineering geological characteristics research, dam site engineering geological evaluation, dam site construction geology.

The main technical content of the revision of this regulation is.

--Added relevant regulations on engineering geological survey of dangerous rock masses on natural slopes surrounding buildings at the dam site.

--Added relevant regulations on dam foundation excavation slack monitoring.

--Added relevant regulations for special engineering geological research on rock foundations such as altered rock and deep unloading rock mass.

- Added relevant regulations on the classification of debris flows according to the landform characteristics of the catchment area.

--Relevant regulations on dam site construction geology have been revised, and the original regulations "geological work of dam foundation treatment" and "geological monitoring Work" is merged into "construction geological work".

--Relevant regulations on the classification of rock mass compactness have been revised.

- Relevant regulations on the identification of collapsibility of loess have been revised.

- Relevant regulations on the discrimination of soil seismic liquefaction have been revised.

-Deleted the original regulations "landform type division", "layered rock layer thickness division" and "rock mass structure surface gauge" Model classification" "Rock mass weathering zone division" "Rock mass unloading zone division" "Debris flow is classified according to fluid properties and the relationship between debris flow Engineering classification" "Rock and soil permeability classification", "Rock mass in-situ stress classification", "Rock quality classification", "Rock mass structure type" Divide the appendix content of "Rock structural surface property classification and shear (fracture) strength value" and "Soil classification standard".
