Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

Drafting.

This document supersedes LY/T 2288-2014 "Guidelines for Testing Variety Distinctiveness, Uniformity and Stability of Plants, Euonymus". (The document is consistent with LY/T..) Compared to 2014, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

1) The wording of "scope" has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2014 edition).

2) The scope of "Terms and Definitions" has been expanded (see Chapter 3);

3) Added "Abbreviations" (see Chapter 4);

4) The requirements for relevant traits, tree age, and the description of propagation methods in the submitted test materials have been changed (see Chapter 5, 2014 edition).

5) The requirements for "Test Location" have been changed (see 6.2, 4.2.2 of the 2014 version), and the requirements for "Test Conditions" have been changed (see 6.3, 2014 version).

4.2.3) and the requirements for "Test Design" (see 6.4, 4.2.4 in the 2014 edition).

6) The positions of "Test methods for similar traits" (see Appendix B.1, 4.2.5 of the 2014 edition) and "Test methods for individual traits" have been changed.

7) The location and wording of the "Additional Tests" section have been changed (see 6.6, 4.2.7 of the 2014 version).

8) The term "specificity, consistency, and stability evaluation" has been changed to "specificity, consistency, and stability determination" (see Chapter 7, 2014 edition).

9) Added "General Principles" for "Specificity, Consistency and Stability Judgment" (see 7.1);

10) Changed "Specificity" to "Specificity Determination" and modified the specific content of "Constant Difference" and "Significant Difference" (see 7.2).

14) The "Plant Growth Habits. Deciduous, Semi-evergreen, Evergreen (Appendix A, Table A.1, Trait Characteristic No. 1)" under "Grouping Traits" has been changed (see...).

The.2014 version of 6.2.1) is "Plant. Growth type (Table A.1 trait number 1)" (see 8.2.1);

15) The "Plant type. upright, semi-erect, creeping (Appendix A, Table A.1, trait number 2)" in the "Grouping traits" section has been changed (see 2014 edition).

Section 6.2.2) is "Plant. Main branch posture (Table A.1 trait number 2)" (see 8.2.2);

16) The section "Leaf texture. papery, leathery (Table A.1 trait number 11) (see 6.2.3 of the 2014 edition)" under "Grouping traits" has been deleted.

And "whether the fruit has wings (Table A.1 phenotypic characteristic number 28)" (see 6.2.4 of the 2014 edition);

17) The "Leaf. Multicolor (Table A.1 Trait No. 19)" category of "Grouping Traits" has been added (see 8.2.3);

18) The "Leaf. Main color of upper surface (Table A.1 trait number 20)" category of "Grouping traits" has been added (see 8.2.4);

19) Added a "Typology Table" which includes "Typology Type," "Expression Type," "Typology Expression Status and Code," "Standard Variety," and "Observation Method." for details (see Chapter 9), the "Explanation of phenotypic characteristics and related symbols" (see Chapter 7 of the 2014 edition) has been deleted.

1 Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements for testing the distinctiveness, uniformity, and stability of new varieties of Euonymus L.

This document applies to the testing of the specificity, uniformity, and stability of new varieties of Euonymus species.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 19557.1 apply to this document.

4 Abbreviations

The following abbreviations apply to this document.

DUS. Distinctness, uniformity, and stability.

MG. Measurement for a group of plants MS. Measurement for a number of single plants PQ. Pseudo-qualitative characteristics QL. Qualitative characteristics QN. Quantitative characteristics TG. 5 Test Materials

5.1 Applicants shall submit test materials that meet the quantity and quality requirements at the specified time and place. Submission of test materials from overseas or other regions is prohibited.

Materials should meet the requirements of customs, phytosanitary and other regulations.

5.2 The test materials submitted should be at least 3-year-old plants propagated asexually. For grafted propagation, the type of rootstock, age of the plant, and grafting method should be specified.

5.3 The number of test materials submitted should be no less than 9.

5.4 The submitted test materials should be free from pests and diseases, have a healthy appearance, and grow normally.

5.5 Submitted test materials should not be processed in a way that affects trait expression, unless permitted by the approving authority. If such processing has been performed, detailed information should be provided.
