3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 19557.1 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Date extension shoot Nutrient branches that sprout from the main bud have the characteristic of continuous single-axis extension over many years and are the branches that form the main branches and trunk of the tree.

secondary shoot

The permanent branches formed from the secondary buds on the jujube head grow in a zigzag shape and are the main branches on which the jujube branches grow, also known as the fruiting basal branches.

Mother bearing shoot Shortened branches sprouting from the main bud on secondary branches or the tip of the jujube tree mainly grow on secondary branches that are two years old or older. Once formed, these branches can connect...

After many years of growth, each branch can produce 2 to 7 jujube shoots.

Note. The fruiting branch is also known as the fruiting mother branch.

jujube hanging bear shoot Jujube branches are fruiting branches, also known as deciduous branches. They mainly grow on the jujube stalks and generally fall off in the same year they sprout. A few robust jujube branches may also fall off.

It has a high degree of solidification and is not easy to fall off.

main bud

The buds that form the jujube shoot and jujube branch are mainly located at the top of the jujube shoot, at each node, and at the top of the jujube branch.

accessory bud

The secondary buds of jujube trees do not have the form of buds; they are precocious buds that form, sprout, and grow during the growing season, with the secondary buds located at the base of the jujube shoot.
