JT/T 1585.2-2026 is Part 2 of the series on the data set exchange format for digital nautical products of coastal ports and fairways, and it deals with surface current data. It applies to the production, exchange and application of surface current data products for coastal port fairways, so that such data can be shared between producers and users in a common format.

The part is used by hydrographic and survey organizations, port and waterway authorities, developers of navigation and charting software, and shipping companies that use digital nautical products. It is a voluntary standard, as the /T in its code shows. It was approved by the Ministry of Transport, issued on 26 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 July 2026. It is a new standard.
