JT/T 1575.1-2026 is Part 1 of the series on requirements for diving operations in special environments, and it deals with diving in cold environments. Cold water and cold weather create particular demands on divers, equipment and the way work is planned and carried out, and this part sets out the requirements for diving operations under those conditions.

The document is meant for salvage and underwater engineering companies, diving contractors and supervisors, and the authorities that oversee diving work. It is a voluntary standard, as the /T in its code shows. It was approved by the Ministry of Transport, issued on 12 January 2026 and takes effect on 1 May 2026. It is a new standard.
