This standard specifies the energy efficiency rating and evaluation methods for commercial vehicles, as well as the carbon dioxide emission intensity rating and evaluation methods. This standard applies to commercial freight vehicles and commercial passenger vehicles that use diesel or gasoline as the sole fuel and have a maximum gross vehicle weight exceeding 3500 kg, but does not apply to urban public buses.
