JB/T 15510-2026 applies to complete equipment that produces sodium metabisulphite from the sulfur dioxide in industrial flue gas. In this process the sulfur dioxide is removed from the gas and recovered as a chemical product, so the equipment serves both pollution control and material recovery. The standard sets out the provisions for the complete plant as a product.

Users include environmental protection equipment manufacturers, engineering companies, industrial plants that emit sulfur dioxide, and inspection or testing bodies. The standard is voluntary, as the /T in its code indicates. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it on 28 April 2026, and it is effective from 2 November 2026. The Machinery Industry Technical Committee for Environmental Protection Machinery Standardization is responsible. It is a new standard.
