HY/T 023-2018 was issued by Ministry of Natural Resources of the People's Republic of China on 13 June 2018 and has been in force since 1 September 2018.

It replaces the earlier edition HY/T 023-2010.

2 Scope

This standard specifies the China Ocean Observatory (point), including the ocean station (point), the station code of the oil platform, the station name code and the station number, as well as the station code coding principle and coding method of the shore-based radar station. This standard only covers the contents of the China (intermediate) ocean observatory (point) code, and does not include the contents of the ocean observatory (point) code of the Taiwan Province of China, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region. This standard applies to the management, identification, recording, transmission, processing, storage, exchange and application of marine observatories (points) such as marine stations (points), oil platforms, and shore-based radar stations.
