HG/T 6496-2026 deals with cellulose deep filtration elements, that is, filter cartridges whose medium is made of cellulose and which retain particles throughout the depth of the filter material rather than only at its surface. The document is a product standard. It gives the basis on which these elements are described, tested, inspected and supplied, so that makers and users of filtration systems can agree on the product in the same terms.

Manufacturers of filter elements, users of filtration systems in industry, buyers, and test laboratories can apply it. It is voluntary, as the /T in the code shows. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it on 16 April 2026, and it takes effect on 1 November 2026. It is a new standard and does not replace an earlier edition.
