HG/T 6472-2026 specifies tri(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate, commonly called trioctyl phosphate, for industrial use. It covers technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage. It applies to industrial trioctyl phosphate produced by reacting phosphorus oxychloride with 2-ethylhexanol (octanol) as the main raw materials. The standard gives suppliers and buyers common terms for describing the product and common procedures for checking it.

Producers of the chemical, buyers who use it in industry, and laboratories that test it can apply the document in contracts, acceptance and quality control. It is voluntary, as the /T in the code shows. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it on 16 April 2026, and it takes effect on 1 November 2026. It is a new standard, with no earlier edition to replace.
