HG/T 6468-2026 deals with the microporous membrane used for concentrating traditional Chinese medicine extract solutions by membrane distillation. In this process the extract is concentrated by passing it along a membrane that lets vapour through but holds back the liquid, and the membrane is the product that the document addresses. The standard sets out the requirements that apply to such a membrane and the way it is to be tested, inspected and supplied, so that producers and users of the membrane work from the same basis.

Membrane manufacturers, producers of traditional Chinese medicine extracts that run membrane distillation equipment, buyers and test laboratories are the people who would use it. It is voluntary, as the /T in the code shows. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it on 16 April 2026, and it takes effect on 1 November 2026. It is a new standard and does not replace an earlier edition.
