HG/T 6348-2026 is a technical specification for reducing nitrous oxide emissions in the nitric acid industry. Nitrous oxide is a greenhouse gas released as a by-product of nitric acid production, and this document deals with the technical measures used to cut those emissions at nitric acid plants.

It is a management-type standard intended for nitric acid producers, plant designers and engineering companies, environmental managers, and organizations that assess or verify emission reduction work. It is a voluntary standard, as the /T in its code shows. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 13 February 2026 and takes effect on 1 September 2026. It is a new standard and does not replace an earlier edition.
