HG/T 5521-2019 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard for the flame retardant chemical melamine polyphosphate, commonly abbreviated MPP. It applies to melamine polyphosphate obtained by polymerisation through chemical reaction. Its methods draw on GB/T 601, GB/T 603, GB/T 2441.1-2008, GB/T 6284, GB/T 6678, GB/T 6682, GB/T 9724, GB/T 23774 and GB/T 27761, together with GB/T 191, GB/T 8170 and JJG 119-2005. Issued on 24 December 2019, it has applied since 1 July 2020.
