HG/T 4792-2014 is the Chinese chemical industry standard for DL-tartaric acid of industrial grade. It classifies the product, states its requirements, and provides the test methods, the inspection rules and the rules for marking, packaging, transport and storage. It applies to DL-tartaric acid manufactured from maleic anhydride and hydrogen peroxide. The melting point is taken by GB/T 617, the loss on drying by GB/T 6284 and the sulfate by GB/T 9728, while GB/T 601, GB/T 602 and GB/T 603 supply the volumetric and impurity standard solutions and GB/T 6678-2003 the sampling. Issued on 24 December 2014, it has applied since 1 June 2015.
