HG/T 4740-2014 is the Chinese chemical industry standard that fixes how the phosphate content of textile dyeing and finishing auxiliaries is determined. The determination is made by the phosphomolybdenum blue spectrophotometric method, in which the phosphate in the sample is converted into a coloured complex and read against a calibration, and what the method returns is the total phosphate content. It is applied to auxiliaries of the textile dyeing and finishing family, where phosphate is a constituent that has to be kept under control. The laboratory water follows GB/T 6682-2008 and the handling of the numerical results follows GB/T 8170-2008. Issued on 24 December 2014, it has applied since 1 June 2015.
