HG/T 20553-2011 is the English-translated version of 化工配管用无缝及焊接钢管尺寸选用系列.
HG/T 20553-2011 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard that fixes the size selection series for the seamless and welded steel pipes of chemical piping. It applies to the choice of pipe sizes for new chemical construction and for reconstruction or expansion projects. Two cases fall outside it: the tubes of heat exchangers and of other chemical equipment, which are not piping, and the pipes covered by the general design of high-pressure pipes, fittings and fasteners H3-67. The series is aligned with GB/T 17395-2008, GB/T 21835-2008, ISO 4200-1991, ISO 1127-1992, ASME B36.10M-2004, ASME B36.19M-2004 and API SPEC 5L-2004. It replaces the mandatory HG 20553-1993. Issued on 18 May 2011, it has applied since 1 June 2011.
