1 Scope

This document shows how to select the wheelchair vehicle required by the user according to the national standards for wheelchair vehicles. This document gives standardized tests and information

The content of this document consists of the following six chapters.

a) How to use this technical report.

b) Standardized testing methods and information release. Provides background for standardized testing information for wheelchairs. Explains how wheelchairs are tested

c) Comprehensive Considerations. Describes comprehensive considerations regarding the selection of manual or electric wheelchairs.

d) Physical characteristics of the occupant. a manual wheelchair or an electric wheelchair that is suitable for the physical characteristics of the occupant.

e) Manual wheelchair. Describes the test method for manual wheelchairs.

f) Electric wheelchairs. describes the test methods for electric wheelchairs, focusing on three- and four-wheeled electric scooters and standard electric wheels

The test methods in the manual and power wheelchair chapters are based on the following three aspects.

For each test, this document contains the following.
