Foreword

GB/T 956, Conical washers, consists of the following parts:

- GB/T 956.1, Conical lock washers;

- GB/T 956.2, Conical serrated lock washers;

- GB/T 956.3, Conical spring washers.

This part is Part 3 of GB/T 956. It is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This part was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation and is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Fasteners of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 85).

Drafting organization: China Productivity Center for Machinery. Participating organizations: Anhui Ningguo Dongbo Fasteners Co., Ltd., Shanghai Qiuming Standard Parts Co., Ltd., National Quality Supervision and Testing Center for Machinery Industry Parts and Components.

1 Scope

This part of GB/T 956 specifies the type and dimensions, technical requirements and marking of conical spring washers.

This part applies to conical spring washers (hereinafter referred to as washers) with nominal sizes of 2 mm to 30 mm used with bolts of property classes 8.8 and 10.9 (GB/T 3098.1). With bolts of property classes below 8.8, the elasticity of the washer can be significantly reduced because of deformation of the contact surface.

Note: when installed with a sufficiently high preload, the washers prevent the loss of preload caused by deformation and creep. The residual elasticity specified in GB/T 94.4 can be used for an initial evaluation of performance. Under transverse loading an effective locking function cannot be guaranteed; the washers are mainly used for bolts subject to short axial loads.

3 Dimensions

The type and dimensions of the washers are shown in Figure 1 and given in Table 1. All dimensional tolerances apply before plating.
