Introduction

Compared to on-road engines, off-road engines have a very wide power range and structural forms, and can be used in many different applications.

use.

GB/T 8190 aims to rationally formulate test procedures for non-road engines, so as to contribute to regulations controlling gas and particulate emissions.

The drafting of engine technical specifications and engine certification have been simplified and made more cost-effective.

To achieve the above objectives, GB/T 8190 adopts three basic principles.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Filter paper smoke meter an instrument that allows a specified amount of exhaust gas to pass through a clean filter paper of a certain area, and determines the smoke value of the filter paper by the degree of blackening of the filter paper (3.3).

Considering the useless volume and leakage of the sampling system, the actual length of the exhaust smoke column passing through the filter paper.

Note. The effective length of the filter column is expressed in mm.

Filter paper smoke number FSN the degree to which the clean filter paper is stained black by the carbon soot (3.6) contained in the exhaust smoke column as it passes through it is used to measure the amount of smoke.

The characteristics of exhaust smoke opacity conform to the standardized units of ISO 10054.
