Scope
GB/T 795-2008 is the English-translated version of 卤代烷灭火系统及零部件.
GB/T 795-2008 sets the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and instruction manual writing requirements for halon fire extinguishing systems and for the components that make them up: extinguishing agent cylinders, containers, container valves, nozzles, safety relief devices, selector valves, check valves, drive devices, manifolds, connecting pipes, control panels, pressure gauges and signal feedback devices.
Clause 1 applies the standard to Halon 1301 fire extinguishing systems and adds that systems using other kinds of gaseous extinguishing agent may also refer to it.
Clause 4 fixes the basic parameters, giving an operating temperature range of -20 degrees C to 50 degrees C for the systems and their components, requiring any product designed beyond those limits to state so clearly on the permanent main product label and on the cylinders and other components, and tabulating in Table 1 the storage pressure, the maximum and minimum operating pressures and the maximum filling density.
Table 1 gives storage pressures of 2.5 MPa and 4.2 MPa, maximum operating pressures at 50 degrees C of 3.93 MPa and 5.80 MPa and minimum operating pressures at -20 degrees C of 1.32 MPa and 2.70 MPa.
Clause 3 defines the equilibrium pressure of a container filled to the maximum filling density and pressurized with nitrogen at 20 degrees C, and the equilibrium pressure of such a container held at the higher of 50 degrees C and the maximum working temperature recommended or prescribed by the manufacturer.
The table of contents runs Introduction, 1 Scope, 2 Normative references, 3 Terms and definitions, 4 Basic parameters, 5 Requirements, 6 Test methods, 7 Inspection rules and 8 Instruction manual writing requirements, after which fourteen normative appendices, A to N, give the test procedures and the number of samples for the system itself and for each component in turn.
Clause 2 cites GB 5099 on seamless steel gas cylinders, GB 5100 on welded steel cylinders, GB 9969.1 on instructions for general industrial products, GA 61 on drive and control devices for fixed fire extinguishing systems and GA 400-2002 on gas fire extinguishing system components.
The foreword records that the revision changed the title, dropped the requirements for Halon 1211 systems, restructured the document in line with GB/T 1.1-2000 and GB/T 1.2-2002, added the chapter on writing operating instructions and added requirements and matching test methods for the system, the agent cylinders, the containers, the safety relief devices, the manifolds, the pipework, the control panel and the signal feedback device; the standard was proposed by the Ministry of Public Security, is administered by SAC/TC 113/SC 2 and was drafted by the Tianjin Fire Research Institute with Fujian Tian-Guang Fire Equipment Co. It replaces GB 795-1989, GB 796-1989, GB 14103-1993, GB 14104-1993, GB 14105-1993 and GB 14106-1993, was issued on April 10, 2008 and has applied since October 1, 2008.

Foreword
This standard replaces GB 795-1989 "Halon fire extinguishing system container valve performance requirements and test methods", GB 796-1989 "haloalkoxy Extinguishing system nozzle performance requirements and test methods ", GB 14103-1993" Halon fire extinguishing system selector valve performance requirements and test methods "
GB 14104-1993 "Halon fire extinguishing system performance requirements and test methods for check valves", GB 14105-1993 "Halon fire extinguishing system Halon fire extinguishing system gauges the performance requirements and test methods valve drive performance requirements and test methods "14106-1993 and GB " ".
This standard compared to alternative standard main changes are as follows.
--- Standard name changed to "fire extinguishing systems and components";
--- Removes the requirement Halon 1211 fire extinguishing system;
--- Overall layout and structure of the standard according to GB/T 1.1-2000 "Standardization Guide Part 1: Standard structure and drafting Rules ", GB/T 1.2-2002" work of standardization Part 2. technical elements of normative standards to determine the content of party Law "to modify;
--- Removed the "GB 4981", "GB 4208" references, an increase of "GB 5099", "GB 5100", "GB 9969.1", "GA61", "GA400" reference;
--- Increased Chapter 8, "Operating Instructions write requirements";
--- Increasing the systems, fire extinguishing agent cylinders, containers, safety relief devices, manifolds, pipe, control panel, signaling requirements and feedback means The appropriate test methods. The Standard Appendix A ~ Appendix N are normative appendix.
The standard proposed by the People's Republic of China Ministry of Public Security.
