Introduction

GB/T 5211 is a series of standards for general test methods for pigments and extender pigments. Due to historical reasons, the names of some of the standards formulated earlier

The unified guiding element "General Test Methods for Pigments and Extender Pigments" is not used. In addition, there are a few common test methods for pigments and extender pigments.

The independent number of the standard is not included in the various parts of the national standard GB/T 5211.It will be gradually processed in recent years and in the future formulation or revision work.

Smoothly, standardize the format of the standard number and standard name, and improve the standard system. GB/T 5211 "General Test Methods for Pigments and Extender Pigments"

The correspondence between the various parts to be formulated or revised and the current standards are shown in Table 1.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1

Residue on sieve

Coarse particles remaining on the test sieve of the specified aperture during the test.

4 Principle

In the washing device, the test pigments or extender pigments dispersed in the water are driven by the rotating water stream to make centrifugal movement, and the water washes the fine particles

After passing through the test sieve, the coarse particles remain on the sieve, and the coarse particles on the sieve are weighed after being dried.

5 Reagents or materials

5.1 Tap water. filtered and pressurized to (300 +/- 20) kPa.

5.2 Wetting agent. such as ethanol (95% by volume) or sulfonate, etc., used to wet pigments and extender pigments that are difficult to wet by water. Wetting

The choice of agent should be negotiated by the parties concerned and explained in the test report.

6 Equipment

6.1 Mechanical flushing device

6.1.1 The mechanical flushing device is shown in Figure 1, and consists of the following parts.
