Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

Drafting.

This document supersedes GB/T 5078-1985 "Method for determining the space required for unidirectional capacitors and resistors", and is consistent with GB/T 5078-Compared to 1985, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

---Added "Content that should be stipulated in relevant regulations" (see Chapter 7).

This document is equivalent to IEC 60717:2012 "Method for determination of space required for unidirectional capacitors and resistors".

Compared with IEC 60717:2012, this document has undergone the following structural adjustments.

---A new chapter on "Terms and Definitions" has been added (see Chapter 3);

---Appendix A (Informative) "Comparison of Previous and Previous Versions" has been deleted.

1 Scope

This document applies to unidirectional capacitors and resistors used in electronic devices.

This document specifies the method for measuring the space required for unidirectional capacitors and resistors.

Note. This method can replace actual space measurement. Using a fixed gauge ensures that components are installed within their designed maximum space.

3 Terms and Definitions

This document does not contain any terms or definitions that need to be defined.

4 Gauge plate

The gauge plate shall have orthogonal matrix holes with standard grid dimensions as specified in GB/T 1360-1998.Unless otherwise specified in the relevant standard.

The standard grid hole spacing should be a multiple of 0.5 mm, preferably 2.5 mm. The relative positions of the holes along the same center line are...

The tolerance is ±0.02 mm. This tolerance is non-cumulative.

The nominal thickness of the gauge plate should be 1.5 mm.

The aperture of the mesh is related to the wire diameter of the component lead-out. The wire diameter of the lead-out should conform to the commonly used printed circuit board process, unless otherwise specified.

Unless otherwise specified in the standard, the diameter of the hole on the gauge plate should be selected from Table 1.
