1 Scope

This document specifies the selection, transportation and storage, installation, use and maintenance of pressure gauges used for measurement and control in industrial processes to ensure... Its functions, performance, safety, and lifespan meet the expected requirements, and the basic standards that need to be followed.

This document applies to mechanical pointer-type pressure gauges that use Bourdon tubes (C-tubes, coiled spring tubes, spiral tubes), diaphragms, or sheet metal as elastic elements.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 17212 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Selection

Based on the intended operating or usage conditions, a reasonable selection should be made regarding the type, material, and technical specifications of the instrument, ensuring that the selected instrument... Technical activities that ensure that functions, performance, safety, lifespan, etc., meet expected requirements.

3.2 Over pressure

An overload condition where the actual working pressure on the instrument is outside the measurement range.

3.3 Overpressure protector

Typically installed in front of the instrument, it is equipped with the function of automatically shutting off when the working pressure exceeds a preset value and automatically restarting when the working pressure returns to the preset value.

A device that allows the instrument to be turned on to protect it from overvoltage damage.

3.4 Siphon condenser coil

Installed before the instrument, its annular structure stores condensate to isolate the high-temperature process medium and lower the instrument's actual operating temperature.
