Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document supersedes GB/T 21438-2008 "Broken Scallop" and GB/T 16872-2008 "Scallop Seedlings". The document is based on GB/T 21438-2008, and integrates some content from GB/T 16872-2008.It is consistent with GB/T 21438-2008. Compared to previous versions, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The source of the baby food has been changed (see 4.1,.2008 version 4.1);

b) The content regarding parent shellfish quarantine has been removed (see

4.7 in the.2008 edition);

c) The usage period for Qinbei (see

4.8 in the.2008 version) has been removed;

d) The "source" and "quality requirements" for seedlings have been added (see 5.1, 5.2);

e) The parentage test method has been changed (see 6.1, Chapter 5 of the.2008 edition);

f) Added seedling inspection methods (see 6.2);

g) Added seedling inspection rules (see 7.2);

h) The requirements for transporting parent shellfish have been changed (see 8.1, Chapter 6 of the.2008 edition);

i) Increased requirements for seedling transportation (see 8.2);

j) The series tables of shell height, shell length, and weight of artificially cultured broodstock and broodstock collected from the seabed in natural sea areas have been deleted (see Appendix A of the.2008 edition). 1 Scope

GB/T 47227-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering the broodstock and spat of the Zhikong scallop - the selection and condition of the parents, the hatchery production, and the size, uniformity and health of the seed a grower buys. It replaces GB/T 21438-2008 and has been in force since 1 September 2026. It was issued on 27 February 2026 and has been in force since 1 September 2026, replacing GB/T 21438-2008. The document is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. 3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Shell height The distance from the apex of the shell to the ventral margin.

3.2 gonadal somatic index The percentage of wet weight of the gonads relative to the wet weight of the soft tissue.

3.3 The percentage of seedlings that meet the required specifications out of the total number of seedlings.

3.4 deformity rate The percentage of seedlings with irregularly shaped shells out of the total number of seedlings.

3.5 The percentage of seedlings with damaged or empty shells out of the total number of seedlings.

4.1 Source Natural marine areas or original (superior) seed farms.
