This document establishes the principles and procedures for quantifying the carbon footprint of steel products, and specifies the objectives, target products and scope of the work. Requirements for product carbon footprint inventory analysis, product carbon footprint evaluation and reporting, and product carbon footprint information exchange. This document applies to the quantification and information exchange of the carbon footprint of steel products, as well as the management of the carbon footprint of steel products by steel enterprises.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 24025, GB/T 24040, GB/T 24044, GB/T 24067 and GB/T 32150, as well as the following terms and definitions, shall apply. Used in this document.

3.2 The sum of greenhouse gas emissions and greenhouse gas removal in the product system.

Note. The product carbon footprint mentioned in this document refers to the carbon footprint of a product from raw material extraction to product output, expressed in carbon dioxide equivalents, and based on climate change.
