Introduction

In the GB/T 4706 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances" series of standards, the vast majority adopt the IEC 60335 series of international standards.

On this basis, the structure of this series of standards refers to the structure of the IEC 60335 series of standards and is divided into several parts, consisting of general requirements and specific requirements.

For products covered by special requirements, their safety requirements are the general requirements combined with the special requirements.

The requirements include supplements and modifications to the corresponding clauses in the general requirements to provide complete requirements for each product.

In the case of the general requirements, they can be applied to various appliances not covered by the special requirements of the GB/T 4706 series of standards, as well as those according to the new principles.

In this case, consideration should be given to the classification of the appliance according to clause 6 and whether the appliance is attended or unattended.

Consideration should also be given to the specific categories of possible users and the associated specific risks, such as contact with live parts, heat surfaces or hazardous moving parts.

It has been assumed in the preparation of this document that the provisions of the standard will be implemented by suitably qualified and experienced persons.

This document recognizes the electrical, mechanical, thermal, fire and other hazards of the appliance when used normally, taking into account the manufacturer's instructions.

It also includes the abnormal conditions that may occur during use and takes into account electromagnetic interference.

How the interference affects the safe operation of the equipment.

In developing this document, the requirements specified in GB/T 16895 have been taken into account as much as possible so that the appliance can be connected to the electrical supply.

The requirements of wiring regulations are coordinated and consistent.

If several functions of an appliance involve different special requirements in other parts, each of the functions of the appliance shall be subject to the following requirements, as far as is reasonable.

The functions shall comply with the relevant requirements in other parts respectively. If applicable, the impact of one function on other functions should be considered.

Note. In this document, when "other parts" are mentioned, they refer to the relevant special requirements in the GB/T 4706 series of standards.

When the "other parts" standards do not give additional requirements for hazards already included in this document, GB/T 4706.1 applies.

GB/T 4706 is a product series standard covering the safety of appliances and takes precedence over horizontal standards and general standards covering the same subject.

The part marked "applicable" in this document indicates that the corresponding clauses in GB/T 4706.1-2024 are applicable to this document;

For the part marked as "replacement", the provisions in this document shall prevail; for the part marked as "addition", it means that in addition to complying with GB/T 4706.1- 2024, the provisions added to the terms of this document must also be complied with; the part of this document marked "modified" means that The corresponding clauses of GB/T 4706.1-2024 are modified.
