4 Principles

The sample was dissolved in nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid and determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry at the selected wavelengths of tantalum and tungsten.

The emission intensity is measured. The mass concentration of each element is calculated using the working curve method and the results are expressed as mass fraction.

5 Reagents or materials

Unless otherwise stated, only reagents of confirmed high-grade purity were used in the analyses.

5.1 Water, GB/T 6682, Grade 2.

5.2 Hydrofluoric acid (rho = 1.13 g/mL).

5.3 Nitric acid (rho=1.42 g/mL).

5.4 Titanium metal (mass fraction greater than 99.99%, and mass fraction of tantalum and tungsten not greater than 0.001%).

5.5 Argon (volume fraction not less than 99.99%).

5.6 Tantalum standard storage solution. Weigh 1.0000g of metallic tantalum (wTa>=99.95%) into a 100mL polytetrafluoroethylene beaker and add 10mL nitric acid (5.3), then add 5mL hydrofluoric acid (5.2) in portions, cover with a polytetrafluoroethylene watch glass, heat at low temperature to dissolve, cool, and transfer In a 1000mL plastic volumetric flask, add 90mL nitric acid (5.3) and 15mL hydrofluoric acid (5.2), dilute to the mark with water, and mix well.
