Scope
GB/T 46762-2025 is the English-translated version of 稀土永磁体防护层腐蚀试验方法.
GB/T 46762-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering testing the coating on a neodymium magnet - the salt spray, humidity and pressure cooker exposures, and the assessment afterwards, on a material that rusts readily enough that the coating is the only thing keeping the magnet intact. First edition, with the grain boundary diffusion evaluation standard GB/T 46763-2025. It was issued on 2 December 2025 and has been in force since 1 July 2026, as a first edition. The document is under the responsibility of the Standardization Administration of China. This page is published from the official record of the 2025 edition; the clause text of a standard this recent is not yet in circulation, and the figures, limits and tables it contains are those of the document itself, delivered in full with the English translation.

This document describes the ordinary salt spray corrosion test, the composite salt spray corrosion test, and the artificial sweat corrosion test for the protective layer of rare earth permanent magnets. Experimental methods. This document applies to various protective layers on the surface of rare earth permanent magnets (including metal coatings, alloy coatings, organic coatings, and various composite coatings). The corrosion resistance of the coating (including phosphating, zirconium phosphate, and other conversion coatings) was tested.
