This standard is Part 2 of a series on high-temperature secondary batteries and concerns safety requirements and tests. High-temperature rechargeable batteries are used in stationary energy storage and industrial applications where the cells operate at elevated temperatures, and safety is a central concern for makers, installers, and operators.

Battery manufacturers, system integrators, test laboratories, certification bodies, and buyers of energy storage equipment are the people most likely to use it. As a recommended national standard (GB/T) it is voluntary unless a customer, contract, or other rule calls for it. It adopts an international standard and was prepared under the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association.

The document should be read as the applicable Chinese reference for this subject alongside the other parts of the same series, and it gives purchasers a common yardstick when comparing the safety of cells from different suppliers. It takes effect on 1 April 2027.
