1 Scope

GB/T 46507-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the child's electric scooter - the speed limit and the braking distance, the stability and the structural strength, the battery and charging safety, the pinch points and the exposed parts, and the warnings and age marking. First edition, under the China National Light Industry Council. In force from 1 November 2026. Issued on 5 October 2025, it takes effect on 1 November 2026.

This document specifies the general technical requirements for children's electric scooters and describes the corresponding test methods. This document applies to electric scooters used by children aged 6 to 14. This document does not apply to children's electric scooters designed for use on public transportation roads, nor to non-powered toy scooters or skateboards. Electric bicycles, electric-assisted bicycles, electric wheelchairs, or similar electric vehicles are not permitted, nor are battery-powered ride-on toys.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 electric scooter Powered by a battery, it has at least one standing surface, at least two wheels, one handlebar, and one adjustable or fixed length. The riser is a vehicle for riding.

3.2 protection cover Protective devices fastened to products to reduce harm to users from transmission systems and other components.

3.3 Fastener A mechanical device that connects two or more parts together.

3.4 Folding mechanism A folding or sliding mechanism that is connected by hinges or pivots and generates squeezing or shearing forces during operation.
