1 Scope
GB/T 46399-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the polymer powder aramid fibre is spun from - the inherent viscosity that stands for the molecular weight, the moisture and the residual solvent and salt, the particle size and the impurities, all of which decide whether the spun fibre reaches its strength. This document defines the terminology and definitions for fiber-grade poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide) (PPTA) powder products and specifies the product's technical specifications. The requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage are described, along with the corresponding test methods. This document applies to para-polyarylamide powder for fibers, which is produced by the condensation polymerization of p-phenylenediamine and terephthaloyl chloride.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Composed of linear macromolecules with amide groups linked together at the para-position of benzene rings, wherein at least 85% of the amide bonds are directly linked to two amide groups. Polymer powder between the para and para positions of the benzene ring.
