GB/T 46264-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering scoring a whole-house electric heating system on how well it performs in a home — the categories, the conditions an evaluation has to meet, the index system and the scoring method, and the calculation in Annex A, with credit for the controls that decide the running cost, adaptive start, setback when no one is in the room, and the switch to frost protection when a window is opened. First edition, under the China National Light Industry Council. In force from 1 March 2026. Issued on 29 August 2025, it has been in force since 1 March 2026.

1 Scope

This document specifies the terms and definitions for the evaluation of the application effect of central electric heating systems for household and similar purposes (hereinafter referred to as "electric heating systems").

Classification, evaluation requirements, evaluation principles, evaluation indicator system and scoring method, and evaluation procedures.

This document applies to single-phase appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V and three-phase appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 480V.

Electric heating systems for use in residential buildings and similar buildings.

This document does not apply to.

— Electric heating systems designed for industrial use;

— Electric heating systems used in buildings and temporary buildings with special purposes, special purification and special protection requirements;

— Electric heating systems used in special environments where corrosive or explosive gases (such as dust, steam or methane) are often produced.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 42389.1 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Application Effect

The comprehensive performance of electric heating systems in terms of energy conservation, operational economy and user experience.

3.2 Adaptive start control adaptivestartcontrol

It can automatically select the best heating time and start heating automatically to ensure that the target area temperature is reached at the set time.

3.3

A function that automatically lowers the set temperature of a building (room) when it detects that no one is indoors.

3.4

Ability to automatically switch the electric heating system to anti-freeze mode or limit its energy consumption to the level of on-duty mode when it detects that doors and windows are open Function.
