This document describes the test methods for the photoelectric properties of liquid crystal alignment films used in liquid crystal displays. This document applies to the research, development, production, testing, and application verification of liquid crystal alignment films for liquid crystal displays.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 pretilt angle After triboelectric alignment or photoalignment, the anisotropy of the liquid crystal alignment film causes the liquid crystal molecules to maintain a fixed state with the surface of the liquid crystal alignment film. Fixed angle.

3.2 twist angle The rotation angle by which liquid crystal molecules inside a liquid crystal display cell rotate from a specific axis to another direction.

3.3 Voltage holding ratio The percentage of the integral area of the voltage change curve interval of the liquid crystal display per unit time to the integral area when the voltage is maintained at 100%.

3.4 ion density The amount of charge equivalent to that of mobile ions within a liquid crystal display.

4 Pre-tilt angle, twist angle

4.1 Principle For pretilt angle and torsion angle tests, the liquid crystal test box should be placed on a special optical monitoring device, as shown in Figure
